STEP 11 MEDITATION

THE
PATH
TO
HEALING
This is a resource run
by people in Recovery,
with people in Recovery,
for people in Recovery.
Step 11 work of Prayer and Meditation comes in many forms. This is a Christian expression of searching and finding and living serenity.
For those of other faiths and none we hope you will find some of the structures here helpful on your own path.

THE PATH TO HEALING
We invite you to explore the profound spiritual practices of contemplative prayer, specifically the Prayer of St Pachomius and the Jesus Prayer as vital tools for recovery and inner transformation.
Pachomius was an inspirational man who, around the year 300AD, formed communities of men and women who were living out individual lives of prayer and meditation. He set up communities that were accountable to each other. He kept things simple and gave those who came to him a simple form of prayer to be repeated regularly.
Those who follow this way of life today are called Pachomians.
This way of prayer is ancient. It pre-dates all the schisms and divisions within the Christian Church and so can be used by people of all denominations and none.
If you would like to try this way of "letting go and letting God"; of seeking Serenity by the discipline of prayer and meditation please contact us or try using the prayer resource below.
JESUS PRAYER
A simple yet powerful practice of repeating the name of God, which serves as a constant reminder of our divine nature and a means of spiritual purification and healing.
Healing Through Stillness and Step Work
Each person will be working their own program. Prayer and Meditation is not a substitute or complete program in and of itself. Getting to meetings and working the steps is essential.
Please discuss Step 11 with your sponsor. None of us walk this path alone.
Pachomians describe the serenity they find within the Pachomian way of prayer and meditation as one of feeling safe, experiencing clarity, realising they are in the presence of something bigger and something that puts the world into perspective. It is a way to live.... and a way to die to certain aspects of the world. It cannot be bought, purchased, short-cutted, acquired or down-loaded. It comes through discipline, commitment of time, perseverance, dedication and accountability
As with all recovery the Pachomian life is a journey; the hardest and yet most wonderful journey in the world. A journey only you can take and a journey you will know when you are ready to take.
